That sounds like good news to me! I love your analogy of investment in a company that promises outrageous dividends but never delivers. I've heard older ones say, "they had too much invested to leave now". ??? I guess they feel trapped holding a bag of worthless promises. I learned to sell the "loser stock" high on promises and low on return on investment (ROI) and move on, investing in something else. There is no difference between Ponzi scheme swindler Bernie Madoff and WTBTS. They both print and distribute material based on lies, monthly financial statements, or printed religious materials that mislead individuals and families to believe they are in a much better place in their trust of the pathological liars. Some believed they have a lot of wealth in an investment account that Bernie Madoff oversaw and others have "treasures in heaven" for their wonderful treatment of Christ's Bride on earth, the remnant, the Governing Body. All of them are liars and manipulators. What makes WTBTS so sick is they will continually "beat" you and your family because what you give is never enough and demand more, more, and even more! We even foolishly paid to hear those "pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip" talks at the district and circuit levels and applauded when finished.

Prediction of how Watchtower going to be in 5 Years.
by Foolednomore ini can see it that watchtower will become an online/tv based group with just con-vention hall$.. field service would be letter writing and phone preaching, door to door is done.. watchtower will have pay to view programs and still ask for donations after all that.. zoom meetings are here to stay.
kingdumb halls will be sold off except for con-vention venues, or need for new ones$.. df'ing will continue.
the craziness will continue.

I'm waiting for them to realize how much money is in a college degree. "Kingdom Business School". Get those Bethelites to pay for their education while working at Bethel and give them a diploma at the end.

What do you know about Tartarus?
by raymond frantz insometimes a word can change everything and this is the case here with a word that appears only once in the bible but reveals so much about the powers of darkness, the influence of greek literature on the first apostles and finally and more relative to 1the intellectual dishonesty of the watchtower when it comes to presenting information from extra biblical sources.so if you like stories about the fallen angels and hollow earth stay presented from an exjw perspective watch this video.

Do we really need this many prayers in a day?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthere’s no proof that prayers have any effect whatsoever, other than perhaps giving the person who prays a false sense of having done something.
all claims that prayers have been answered are either anecdotal, fraudulent, delusional or are the result of either pure coincidence or confirmation bias.. how many prayers do you need in a day?.
you get up and eat breakfast...you pray for another day of life.

I've heard it said about our prayers for meals, which is that dogs can even wag their tails in appreciation for a meal. I have a dog that wags its tail especially when I come home and he jumps a lot also then too. Not so much for food, walks, or for taking him to the veterinarian. Treats, I've bought lots of treats and he doesn't like them. So, he's picky. But, he likes it when we sit together. He is happy, he smiles when he is happy, he sleeps on my dirty laundry, wants to sleep in my bed, but not so much, only for about 15 minutes then he jumps off, but only when it's thundering or fireworks outside. He has to sit with me every time I go to the bathroom and to shower or well, yea. He is there, But, he doesn't have a tail, so there's that. Maybe, he doesn't like his food. I don't blame him.
I was always critical of the idea that someone giving or "saying" a prayer to God thanking him solely for the food. Never mentioning the "axe" hard work done by the household in the secular world for simple wages and menial jobs, the hours of preparation the meal took, the farmers who planted and took a financial risk on a crop, the seasonal workers who traveled and harvested the crops, the truckers who transported the crops, the oil companies, and their workers who provided the oil-based products for the equipment and trucks transporting the harvest to market, the fertilizer companies, the harvest equipment manufacturing companies like John Deere and Massey Ferguson plus, the water well drilling companies and their suppliers, the seed growers, etc, you get the idea. How about the companies and men, even the governments that built the roads for the trucks to transport the produce. How about giving the taxpayers a round of applause for paying taxes, (a real sacrifice), to build and maintain an infrastructure for commerce so we can have watermelons and pecans from Georgia, and oranges from Florida transported on railroads to anywhere in the world?
So, if we thanked everyone involved in a meal, prayers would be really long, like prayers at the end of a convention. "We want to thank the non-non-anti- but-union workers for working for no wages or benefits cleaning the bathrooms for free during this xx day convention". Let's give a round of applause to the workers that normally work at this arena and whose families depend on their work here, but we cut out of paying wages to them by having free uninsured labor clean the restrooms, all the while in their "Christian dress" wearing sometimes cheap suits and dresses and at other times very nice suits and dresses. We demonstrate our "Christiansoness by the nicety of our dress while cleaning toilets". Clearly, we are more spiritual than Notre Dame that burnt years ago. Further, But, we saved you, peasants, three cents per publisher attending this convention and all you had to do was while attending this convention is spend 1/3 of your time maintaining the property that was rented. Think of it as a working vacation!!

Counseling for Ex JW
by Iamallcool ini have been thinking that it would be very nice if the us government would be willing to fund ex jw counseling services all over the united states.
i understand that many counselors do not really understand ex jw issues but we can educate them if we have additional funds, etc…if someone here is willing to write a letter to their local representative about it, that would be great!

Well, put your face in the windshield and get moving. Don't look in the rearview mirror much, that's why it is so small.
Brother Biden is giving free syringes, condoms, and crack pipes. I guess he started out with good intentions to forgive student debt and we get crack pipes, condoms, and syringes. Unbelievable.

Annual service report - yet another analysis - big trouble for the WTS
by FFGhost inthere's already been a couple of threads on the 2021 report with insightful comments, but i'm vain enough to want to start my own topic with some additional thoughts..... as others on the other thread noted, it's useful to compare the 2021 numbers not only to 2020 but also 2019 (the last non-pandemic report).. there are some really troubling (if you're a wt headquarters guy) news in the latest report.. 1) baptisms plummet.
2021 - 171,393. baptisms dropped 20% in 2020, and 30% more in 2021. the total drop from 2019 to 2021 is an amazing 44%.. one could argue that without in-person assemblies and conventions you'd expect baptisms to drop.
but....if someone really wants to get baptized, jws will find a way.

Now What, "Whatever happened to " in the last days people will be streaming to the mountain of Jehovah"? "
Good Question, I was told people would be standing at the front door of the Kingdom Hall wanting to study. So, the Stream looks to be perhaps a branch, maybe a trickle, or just a trickle. Obviously, nothing to see here. Oh, but wait. When we study the Greek word "Streaming" it is related to the word communication or a "method of sending or receiving data" or information. The word Streaming connotates a "continuous flow" of information. Therefore, this must be prophetic of the continuous flow or the "streaming of spiritual food from the Governing Body". Isn't it happifying to be at the receiving end of the stream? Yes, we can drink Life's Water Free!
Hummmmm, Zzzzaaaapppp.....I guess the zoom idea can't be used for studies, just meetings. For all we know, the people streaming are walking around lost in the desert looking for the Mountain of Jehovah! Well, Moses did it.
Interesting how 25 to 75 years of listening to the WTBTS message we recall the mental visual images of what the salesmen directors used to manipulate us. Effective marketing.

More cracks in the dam - WTS pleading for elders "in their early 20s"
by FFGhost ini have another post here about how the wts is reeling from covid, as reflected in their abysmally catastrophic service report:.
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6315842470936576/annual-service-report-yet-another-analysis-big-trouble-wts.
here's another rupture showing.. in the latest "announcements and reminders" to elders, there is a paragraph with these sentences:.

I have seen this problem of not having enough real men to take the job on. It was back in the 1880s and Wil Anderson was his name and he needed real men, "Cowboys", for a 400-mile cattle drive to market. After trying to find real men for the cattle drive, Mr. Anderson ended up going to the schoolhouse and recruiting 11 young men. In fact, the one really young boy asked if he could come and Mr. Anderson had him come to stand in front of the chalkboard and drew a mark on the chalkboard a few inches above his head and said, "Anyone as tall as this mark is welcome to come". Mr. Anderson left and the other boys came up to the front and took the chalkboard off of a few books to lower the standard so their friend could come. The story ends with Mr. Anderson being shot and killed, and the eldest of the boys takes the lead and tells all the others, "Well, come on, we're burning daylight" a favored expression of Mr. Anderson. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068421/

puctuality..
by zachias ina small incident happened to me today that has triggered me to say this.. how many of you have seen that jw are fairly hopeless and being anywhere on time.. an obvious one is the families that never miss a meeting and never miss arriving late with resultant fuss.
.
but in day to day things as well.arriving late for a paid job.. leaving early, ditto.. not turning up for a bbq without even a phone call.. being in all things disorganized.. and, how many of you have seen the above become the norm in people once they become jw that were not that way before....

I wasn't so concerned about the family with 5 children coming in late. That is hard work to get that many young children going on the weekend. I was irritated with the PO who was late for everything, but he had everyone waiting on him so his time wasn't wasted. I.e., He would have a part on a circuit assembly and want to practice, so everyone shows up but him. We had dinner, then practiced the part without him and are leaving and he finally shows up literally 3 + hours late. The reason he and his family were late was that He had gone to a local college football game and it went into overtime. He had a cell phone and could have called. The problem was he would have been late if the game had not gone into overtime. He made the appointment when the kickoff was scheduled. That's what pissed me off. He did that kind of crap all the time. I have to thank him though, his selfishness helped me wake up.

The Watchtower—Study Edition | February 2022 Trust in Jehovah ...We really meant ''the Governing Body''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe watchtower—study edition | february 2022. study article 6. do you trust in jehovah’s way of doing things?.
15 as the end of this system of things draws near, we need to trust in jehovah’s way of doing things as never before.
during the great tribulation, we may receive instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical.

FFGhost, you remember correctly, when I read "Jehovah" in a WT article I substitute either the WTBTS or the "Governing Body". Several years ago there was a study WT article that was beating up on individuals that were getting tired of the end being around the corner and the article had questions like, "Are you upset with Jehovah for warning his people early but nothing happened?". Just substitute Jehovah with the "governing body or WTBTS". When I read the article again with the substitutions the article seemed to be defending their early warning system of forever calamity howling.
